Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain doctor and hygienist schedules to meet practice goals and ensure efficiency.
- Answer incoming calls, including new patient inquiries, emergencies, scheduling appointments, and requesting or following up on records.
- Manage scheduling lists (unscheduled, ASAP, treatment pending) to optimize patient follow-through and meet scheduling targets.
- Greet and check patients in and out before and after treatment, ensuring a seamless experience.
- Educate and consult with patients, discussing treatment needs and presenting comprehensive treatment plans.
- Stimulate new patient growth through marketing and promotional initiatives, such as recall cards, continuing care calls, referral programs, and gifts.
- Document patient dental treatments and financial transactions, including signing financial arrangements, processing prepayments for large cases, and collecting payments.
- Make pre-treatment financial arrangements with patients to ensure clarity and trust.
- Handle dental insurance billing, post payments, and provide accurate claim estimations.
- Balance daily income and charges, and prepare deposits for accuracy in financial reporting.
- Oversee accounts receivable, including billing statements, aging reports, and collections.
- Create month-end reports and forecast monthly goals for the practice and providers.
- Follow office procedures for patient referrals to ensure smooth coordination.
- Address doctor, patient, and employee concerns or inquiries, seeking assistance when necessary.
- Perform general office duties and take on additional responsibilities as required.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a dental front office role.
- Proficiency with computers and the ability to quickly learn new software programs, including Microsoft Office Suite.
- Familiarity and experience with SoftDent
- 1-2 years of experience in a dental front office position.
